As Beth and I were growing up, we moved from Minnesota to New Jersey then England, Brazil. Mexico, and Florida. We were initially bilingual in English and Portuguese, but with the move to Mexico, we were using both Portuguese and Spanish in the same sentence. My Spanish teacher told me to forget Portuguese and concentrate on Spanish, so I did. I think Beth must have also because now we are bilingual in English and Spanish.
